Explosive atmospheres - Part 20-1: Material characteristics for gas and vapour classification - Test methods and data (ISO/IEC DIS 80079-20-1:2026)

This document is published as a dual log standard and provides guidance on classification of gases and vapours. It describes a test method intended for the measurement of the maximum experimental safe gaps (MESG) for gas-air mixtures or vapour-air mixtures under normal conditions of temperature and pressure (20 °C, 101,3 kPa) so as to permit the selection of an appropriate group of equipment. This document also describes a test method intended for use in the determination of the auto-ignition temperature (AIT) of a vapour-air mixture or gas-air mixture at atmospheric pressure, so as to permit the selection of an appropriate temperature class of equipment. Values of chemical properties of materials are provided to assist in the selection of equipment to be used in hazardous areas. Further data may be added as the results of validated tests become available. The materials and the characteristics included in a table (see Annex B) have been selected with particular reference to the use of equipment in hazardous areas. The data in this document have been taken from a number of references which are given in the bibliography. These methods for determining the MESG or the AIT may also be used for gas-air-inert mixtures or vapour-air-inert mixtures. However, data on air-inert mixtures are not tabulated. Keywords: classification of gases and vapours, measurement of the maximum experimental safe gaps (MESG)

Assessment of electrical flexibility services from power network perspective

This document aims at standardizing concepts, terms and definitions relating to electrical flexibility as well as methodology to assess electrical flexibility services. The purpose of this document is to define a standardized characterization of electrical flexible services, so that data collected by transmission system operators or distribution system operators can be used and compared in an interoperable manner. In addition to the development of relevant use cases, the project will focus on the following normative aspects: — definition and characterization of the different types of electrical flexibilities depending, in particular, on the flexibility needs and the response time; — activation or control mode of the flexibility services; — measurement provisions: e.g. consistency with the data of the electricity smart meters and the metrology requirements and the use of dedicated measurement devices; — information exchanges between concerned parties; — verification of delivery of service.

Properties and test methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize PE-UHMW moulding and extrusion materials are established. The properties have been selected from the general test methods in ISO 10350-1. Other test methods in wide use for or of particular significance to these moulding and extrusion materials are also included in this document, as are the designatory properties specified in ISO 21304-1. This document specifies the-materials with MFR less than 0,1 g/10 min at 190 °C /21,6 kg based on ISO 17855-1. The methods of preparation and conditioning, the specimen dimensions and the test procedures specified in this document are used in order to obtain reproducible and comparable test results. Values determined will not necessarily be identical to those obtained using specimens of different dimensions or prepared using different procedures.

Agricultural and forestry machinery - Environmental requirements for sprayers - Part 4: Fixed and semi-mobile sprayers (ISO/DIS 16119-4:2026)

This part of ISO 16119 specifies requirements and the means for their verification for the design and performance of fixed and semi-mobile sprayers, as defined in 3.1 and 3.2, with regard to minimizing the potential risk of environmental contamination during use, including misuse foreseeable by the manufacturer. This type of spraying system is generally a combination of separate elements (main tank, pump and application unit) that can be assembled in fixed installations (fixed sprayers) or with moving parts (semi-mobile sprayers). It does not apply to application equipment for space/spatial treatments. It is intended to be used with ISO 16119 1, which gives general requirements common to all the sprayer types covered by ISO 16119. When requirements of this part of ISO 16119 are different from those stated in ISO 16119 1, the requirements of this part of ISO 16119 take precedence over the requirements of ISO 16119 1 for machines within the scope of this part of ISO 16119. This part of ISO 16119 does not cover safety aspects (see ISO 4254 6). • Filling - Total tank extra volume • Quick coupler for CTS + mandatory provision of inductor hopper or CTS • Filters drain valve • Digital level indicator + accuracy • Pump requirements as per ISO 12908: 2020 • Residue concentration only one method for system rinsing

Oil and gas industries including lower carbon energy - Pipeline transportation systems - Reliability-based limit state methods (ISO/DIS 16708:2026)

ISO 16708:2006 specifies the functional requirements and principles for design, operation and re-qualification of pipelines in the petroleum and natural gas industries using reliability based limit state methods as permitted by ISO 13623. Reliability-based limit state methods provide a systematic way to predict pipeline safety in design and operation. ISO 16708:2006 supplements ISO 13623 and can be used in cases where ISO 13623 does not provide specific guidance and where limit states methods can be applied, such as, but not limited to - qualification of new concepts, e.g. when new technology is applied or for design scenarios where industry experience is limited, - re-qualification of the pipeline due to a changed design basis, such as service-life extension, which can include reduced uncertainties due to improved integrity monitoring and operational experience, - collapse under external pressure in deep water, - extreme loads, such as seismic loads (e.g. at a fault crossing), ice loads (e.g. by impact from ice keels), - situations where strain-based criteria can be appropriate. ISO 16708:2006 applies to rigid metallic pipelines on-land and offshore used in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

Specifications for dedicated liquefied petroleum gas appliances - LPG vapour pressure appliances incorporating a horizontal cartridge in the chassis

This document specifies the construction characteristics, performances and marking related to safety and the rational use of energy of portable, flat gas appliances directly supplied at the LPG vapour pressure, incorporating a gas cartridge complying with EN 417:2012, inserted horizontally in the chassis. NOTE 1 These appliances are referred to in the body of the text as “appliances”. This document covers appliances for outdoor or in well ventilated areas uses only. This document does not cover appliances supplied by an external gas source. For example, the following types of appliances are covered: a) cooking appliances (stoves, barbecues); b) heating appliances. This document specifies the requirements applicable to these appliances or their functional sections whether or not the latter are independent or incorporated into an assembly. Appliances covered by this document are not connected to a flue for the discharge of products of combustion and are not connected to the mains electricity supply. This document covers neither appliances supplied with LPG in the liquid phase nor appliance with fixed integral container which could be refilled by the user. This document does not cover appliances of direct pressure propane category. Requirements for rational use of energy have been considered for stove burners. NOTE 2 However, such requirements have not been considered for the other types of appliances because: - for barbecues, this type of cooking varies according to the type of food and region where the appliance is used; - for heating appliances, all the heat produced is discharged into the environment.

Building valves - Pressure safety valves - Tests and requirements

This document specifies dimensions, materials and performance requirements, including methods of test, for pressure safety valves, of nominal sizes from DN 15 to DN 40, having working pressures from 0,1 MPa (1 bar) to 1,0 MPa (10 bar). Pressure safety valves are intended for fitting to the potable water supply of storage water heaters, having a maximum storage temperature of 95 °C. Pressure safety valves limit the pressure in hot water heaters. Pressure safety valves do not control the temperature and alone do not constitute the protection required for storage water heaters. They are not intended to act as expansion valves under normal conditions. NOTE The use of the device specified in this document does not override the need to use controls (e.g. thermostats and cut-outs) which act directly on the power sources of water heaters (for more information see Annex A).
